Many believe that lead generation , or the marketing action that allows us to generate possible customers interested in our products and services, is a mathematical formula. An equation in which nice offer + target identification + paid sponsorship = customers . I've oversimplified, but that's more or less what I hear from many colleagues and esteemed professionals. I am also convinced that in many cases this macro funnel leads or has led to relevant results. Now let me play a little. I'm in a pre-holiday mood, so I hope my competitors/colleagues who might (perhaps rightly) be horrified by these simplified examples will forgive me. First case You offer a new iPhone 6 for 300 euros, an opportunity that only you in the world have. It will be enough to spend 5 euros for a promoted post on Facebook, for 500 of them to be sold. This is the Nirvana of return on investment.
The Valhalla of conversion. The Garden of Eden of every marketer, who, bringing this result to India Mobile Number Data his client, will be immortalized in a bronze statue at the entrance to the company. Second case Offer a financial product that has a price/features ratio in line with the market. Sponsor a campaign involving the two major social media, with graphics and texts created by an excellent agency, identifying the right target and, with a cost of 10,000 euros for sponsorship alone, you get 126 information request forms filled out. Leads, in fact, but all of them still need to be persuaded to turn them into customers. Third case You are a physiotherapist and almost every day you talk about which techniques and methods are the most suitable for treating muscle strains and contractures, how to correctly perform a bandage and which products to use. Do this with passion, without wanting anything in return and only to demonstrate that you have two things that serve to make you reliable: credibility and passion for your work. Don't spend money on ADV, but spend time creating content and managing conversations.
In your opinion, who will the people who read you every day and find out about your content as true professionals trust if they need it? These three cases exist, even if the first is a bit extreme. Lead generation is a much more complex path than how I described it, because it mixes the famous 4Ps , namely Price , Position , Promotion and Product , which must be added to the complication of Reputation , Credibility and Empathy with one's own public. The services/products that you sell, in most cases, are the same ones that 1,000 other companies or professionals sell. It may also happen that they are not as beautiful, reliable and technological as yours, but the customer is more interested in understanding who is selling it than the features or the price (if the latter elements are similar). As a customer, I rely on you, because you have shown that you love your work and that you support me in case of need.
